Nearly 200 of you joined us Thursday evening
to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, recognize our remarkable 2018 honorees, and support the Connecticut Fair Housing Center's mission to ensure that all people have equal access to housing opportunities in our state.
This year's honorees inspired us to keep fighting discrimination and segregation, even in the face of difficult challenges and setbacks. As 2018 Loving Award recipient Betsy Julian told the crowd,
"This work is hard, but we keep going."
The other honorees of the evening included Dept. of Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein, State Representative Roland Lemar, Open Communities Alliance, and the Hartford History Center. Master of Ceremonies John Motley kept the program moving along and once again demonstrated his formidable skills as an auctioneer.
From all of us at the Center, thank you for your continued support and your commitment to fair housing in Connecticut.
