Thank you for supporting SOS!

As we wrap up a successful summer here at SOS and begin the 2014 winter season, we want to thank you for your generous support over the years.

With your gift, we were able to expand the year-round program to serve youth in Denver and Leadville, Colorado as well as Tahoe, California. A record-high 456 students completed the year-round extension of the University curriculum. Because of you, each of them participated in up to 30 days of high-intensity youth development, experiencing new winter and summer sports and spending more time with positive adult mentors.

"SOS has made me a better person. I'm more rooted to their values, which are now mine."

- Masters Student David Garcia

We are also proud to report the progress of the new Masters program. This season, our 44 Masters students proved their interest in the cultivation of leadership skills and their commitment to peer mentoring as well as social justice advocacy. Through anti-bullying campaigns, community clean-up projects and fundraising for Syrian refugees, our Masters have proven their potential as local and global citizens and social justice advocates.

This summer, SOS participant David Garcia explained how SOS has changed his life. He said:

"SOS has made me a better person. I'm more rooted to their values, which are now mine. During our peak ascent I did not think I could make it, but through my new friends, through their help and support, I made it the first year - the second year was the same. And now this year I was the one leading the group, and I was the one supporting them."

These impacts would not have been possible without you. On behalf of the entire SOS staff, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for your generosity.

Thanks again,

Arn Menconi
