Each day Douglas David will give a short demonstration with discussions on composition, massing, building form, light and shadow, depth, atmospheric images and how to know when your piece is finished. You'll study these principles of design and paint while creating a landscape or seascape painting, working in your own style so that the finished piece is your own. You'll work in the studio and venture out to the beach and lighthouse. The Queen & I
Armstrong Gallery June 2 - July 2
June 2 marks the 62nd anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. We welcome the photography of Donald Steele as a celebration of the Queen as an icon.
Birds of the Bible by Catherine McClung
Lievense Gallery June 2-30 It took 2 years to create this watercolor mural of the 33 different species of birds mentioned in the Bible. After 40 years of observing, photographing, painting birds and 14 years of actively studying the Bible, I had this amazing idea to paint all of them together, the fierce and the fragile, the beautiful and the ugly. Birds play a dynamic role in scripture and their usage is both literal and metaphorical and they teach us lessons about humanity, faith and grace. This provocative art piece helps to reveal grace in wild places which otherwise may never have been noticed before.
Exhibitions are free and open to the public. Come visit us!
