Friends,

One month ago, we started this campaign with an eye toward fixing a broken Congress and charting the course for a better future for all of us.

I have been overwhelmed by the terrific support we have gotten in these four weeks.  Congressman Norm Dicks, Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland, Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent, Gig Harbor Mayor Chuck Hunter, Kitsap Commissioners Charlotte Garrido and Rob Gelder, Clallam County Commissioner Mike Doherty, and hundreds of others from throughout the district have endorsed our effort.  What's more, earlier this week I was proud to be endorsed by the Clallam County Democrats in a meeting where I saw my old cub scout leader, my old music teacher, and lots of other old friends.  Your support has been inspiring!

Due to the support of each of you, we were able to surpass our fundraising goals for the first quarter.  This campaign is a 7-month marathon that started with a sprint to the March 31st fundraising deadline.  Each of every one of you helped us get off to a great start.  I so appreciate your support (and your willingness to put up with a flurry of fundraising emails).

We have had a great start to the campaign thanks to your support, but there's still a lot of road to travel.  I look forward to seeing you as I visit every part of the district in the months ahead.  In the meantime, please accept my sincere gratitude for your extraordinary help in launching this campaign successfully.
