District 3 &The El Paso Fire Department cordially invites you to attend
Fire Station #5

 Ribbon Cutting and Open House
Wednesday, December 17
10 a.m.
400 Revere Street

Residents are invited to attend the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Station 5 located at 400 Revere St. on Wednesday Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.
This 17,168 square foot station will be home to 57 firefighters. The Spanish-style concrete tile roof and construction to the specifications of the City of El Paso's SmartCode mean the facility will integrate seamlessly into the nearby Medical Center of the Americas.
For this facility, the City of El Paso is pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification, indicating that the design places an emphasis on achieving improved sustainability. The new fire station features a seven-bay apparatus room, improved ADA accommodations and accessibility, improved gender neutral facilities, designated protective equipment storage and decontamination areas and improved response capacity. The construction also includes "FIREBIRD," a public art piece by artist Greg Reiche.

"The fire station will better serve the community because it's centrally located," said City Rep. Emma Acosta, District 3, who represents the area where the new station is now operating. "It will have both fire trucks and ambulances, a HAZMAT team and is a state of the art facility. In contrast, the other stations did not service ambulances and/or had a HAZMAT team. I believe it's going to improve response times.
