Huntington Beach, CA - July 9, 2014 - The 2014 Huntington Beach Surf Classic couldn't have gone any better! The Independence Day week was filled with great food provided by Seaside Catering, a refreshment party before the Grand Prix hosted by our wonderful vendors, and more exciting wins than we can even begin to list. One of those exciting wins was Kristin Hardin and Bert who took first place on Saturday in the $25,000 GGT Footing Grand Prix, presented by S&S Bankcard Systems, with a jump off time of 28.841.Trailing close on her heels was Lane Clarke riding Kiss The Sky (owner Horsemanship Unlimited) with a time of 29.106. Kristin commented afterwards that, "The horses jump so great on that footing. You can really take a shot when the footing is that perfect in the Jump Off."

It was a great way to celebrate the 4th of July at the Grand Prix Hunter Derby, presented by Villas at Rancho Valencia, as Jamie Taylor and Patton (owner Marion Lowry) took home the blue ribbon with a score of 173. Nicole Kane riding Samba Gracious (owner Heidi Kane) came in second with a close score of 168. In addition to the great footing, the weather was perfect for the class with temperatures in the 70s and plenty of sunshine.
