We will be discussing the myths, assumptions and real life experiences of bisexual men and women. We hope to answer such tough questions as:
1) Is Bisexuality real or are we just confused or in denial?
2) Are bisexuals just greedy opportunists?
3) How many bisexuals are there really?

Loraine Hutchins
Loraine Hutchins, Ph.D.

Loraine Hutchins is a multi-issue social justice activist. Co-editing and promoting the first edition of Bi Any Other Name: Bisexual People Speak Out in 1991 led to co-founding BiNet USA - the National Bisexual Network and serving on its first board of directors. She directed BiNet's media efforts for the 1993 March on Washington for Lesbian, Gay and Bi Equal Rights and Liberation and helped found DC's AMBI, the Alliance of Multicultural Bisexuals and its direct action arm, AMBUSH in the early 90s. Her dissertation, Erotic Rites, investigates sex-positive spiritual paths and contemporary erotic rituals from a queer feminist perspective. Dr. Hutchins currently teaches a variety of inter-disciplinary sexuality courses at Montgomery College and continues her post-doctoral research into the intersections of sex work, ritual, spirituality, therapy and healing.

  

John Craig
John Craig, MSW

Therapist John Craig conducted a nationwide conference program for bisexual men which gained coverage by a variety of major media outlets, including CNN, the Washington Post, Time, USA Today, Redbook, the New York Times, and Sirius Satellite Radio. He has conducted three-day workshops on bisexual issues in rural retreat centers located in Massachusetts, California, Ohio and Georgia, and in major cities, including Chicago, New York City, and Boston.

 

John has published articles on GLBT issues in a variety of professional publications, including the journal of the American Orthopsychiatric Association. He did his undergraduate work at Yale College, the University of California at Santa Cruz, and Georgia State University. He also holds a master degree in clinical social work from New York University, and continues to research and write about the nature and history of bisexual relationships.

 

Wendy Thompson
Wendy Jo Thompson

 

Wendy-Jo Thompson is an Internal Organization Development Consultant in HealthCare. Her work has included organization effectiveness, diversity facilitation, employee and leadership development to name a few. She is a 46 year old mother of an adult son and teenaged daughter. Wendy has lived in the DC metro area for almost 30 years, and has long been interested in a conversation about the silent "B".
