The "Present"! 8/22/16
Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
A headline in THE WASHINGTON POST I read this past week read thus:
"
OLYMPIANS STRUGGLE TO ADJUST TO LIFE AFTER THE RINGS"
In other words, what does one do AFTER they FINISH/FULFILL/ACCOMPLISH their goal?????
The obvious answer is "find a NEW goal!!"
It was mildly shocking to walk through my house last night and see an open door to a bedroom that has ALWAYS been occupied!!
The MA-IN-LAW suite is finished and granny moved out last night!
For the first time in 18 years, one bedroom of my home is empty-probably the first time I ever experienced the "EMPTY NEST SYNDONE."
That bedroom has ALWAYS had an occupant!''
Kids, grand kids, kids AND grand kids, friends-you name it, someone has ALWAYS lived with us.
I believe I am accurately quoting T.D. Jakes who wisely said, "NEVER RETIRE!!!"
The Apostle Paul said it better:

I had the pleasure of watching a 70 year old brick mason and his equally OLD brother erect a brick front on the new room this past week.
Everything I knew and feared proved true-There is NO shortcut to building a brick wall!!!
Isaiah 28:10 (KJV)
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
TWO enormous pallets of SINGLE bricks was delivered to my house.
These bricks had to be HAND CARTED to the wall, re-stacked by HAND, mud/mortar mixed and strategically placed and then HAND PLACED, one one upon another:
"
precept upon precept, line upon line."
It was HARD, BACK-BREAKING labor!!!
The sun was out and it was hot!
The mosquitoes were biting, the rains came, but the building went on in spite of.
So what does one do when the building is completed?
Answer-BUILD another wall!!!!

Moses replied "A ROD."

Beloved, YOU are NEVER too old to learn, and YES, "an OLD dog CAN learn new tricks!!!!"
