The 8 Core Reasons You Remain in a Career You Hate

Join Our Mailing List

Hello! Hope you're enjoying your Spring and the weather has been good to you, as it has been here in Connecticut.

Today's newsletter is dedicated to prospective career changers - those folks who are in transition now or who have decided that they're ready to embark on a new professional direction and would like a bit of guidance and support to steer them in the right direction.

Towards that end, I've written a Forbes post today on:

I've personally experienced each of these mistakes, and have observed  how they can wreak total havoc on career changers' lives.  In my coaching work with professionals, we work together to avoid these missteps, and to foster an "eyes-wide-open" process that limits costly errors.

I'm hoping you'll get from this post concrete tips, solutions and strategies for actions and behaviors to avoid so you'll stay on the right track towards a successful career change outcome.

Please add your comments to the end of post, and answer the question I pose: What are your burning questions about your career change process?  We can all learn from your experiences and queries. If you like the post, I'd be grateful if you'd share it in your social networks or via email.

To help support you further, I'd like to mention a powerful virtual summit that I'm participating in called Fed Up 2 Free at Work.  I've just recorded my one-hour talk which is scheduled for April 24th on Achieving Your Highest and Best Career.  I hope you'll find it helpful in motivating and informing your journey! Register today and get some fantastic career support from top experts and speakers from the U.S. and abroad.

Finally, if you're in CT and have access to CT News 12, I hope you'll check out my spot on "12 on the Money" with the lovely Becky Surran this weekend.  We'll be discussing the core steps to Jumpstarting Your Career Change.

Thank you for your ongoing comments, insights and thoughts.  As always, I deeply appreciate being in community with you.

All best wishes for abundant success,

P.S. I was honored last week to deliver a Work-Life Balance seminar at General Reinsurance in CT, that explored the key steps to helping professionals reclaim more balance in their lives and work.  If your organization is also interested in supporting its workforce through empowering, motivating training workshops that enhance career success, I'd love to hear from you!

P.P.S. I also had the pleasure of joining my friend and colleague Marriage and Family Therapist Trevor Crow in March on her terrific radio show, Keeping Connected.  We chatted about the power of positivity to shape your relationships and career, and a whole lot more!
