The Giving Tree
A very special thank you to Stephanie Boyden for consistently showing up and keeping our Giving Tree current. It has become a beautiful representation for our community.

This week she added a butterfly for each and every staff member at Blue Oak; she explains,

"Butterflies represent endurance, change and hope -- a fitting tribute to our school this year! Plus, each butterfly has a staff member's name to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week :)

GIRLS ON THE RUN IS SO MUCH FUN!

So much more than a running program, Girls on the Run is a confidence-building empowerment program for girls, The girls meet twice a week right after school in small teams of 8 to 15 girls.

Who is it for? Girls in 3rd- 5th grades (Girls on the Run) or 6th-8th grades (Heart & Sole)

What do they do and learn? Life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. At each season's conclusion, the girls complete a community service project and a 5K (3.1 miles) fun run. Teaching girls that they CAN!
