THE ADDISON RESERVE BUZZ

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

Good day from your favorite resident realtor team, Cherie & Larry Gross with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Florida Realty, a team and company you can always depend upon, "The Power of Two."

Just One New Beautiful Comment That I'd Like to Share

"I just want to let you know that I can tell you both put hours and hours of your time into writing the Buzz.  It is truly well done and fantastic. You are being well received by the community."

Thank you for supporting us! The best compliment we could receive is for you to refer us to your friends, family and co-workers.  We are never too busy for our clients and their affiliates and thank you in advance!

To start off this week's Buzz, we want to welcome a new assistant manager to Addison Reserve. His name is Sam Pontillo.  Sam comes to us with a great amount of hospitality experience from Saratoga, New York, as well as from Pompano Beach, Florida. With that said, as we welcome Sam, it is with great regret that we will be saying good bye to one of our favorite employees, Jeff, our present manager for our Dining Room. Jeff joined us here in Addison a few years ago and quickly became an integral part of Mike McCarthy's staff. Along with Anthony, Marlon & Katie, Jeff was Johnny on the spot and helpful to any member or any situation he would come across. We, at Addison, will miss him greatly, especially our ladies. We wish him all the good fortune he deserves on his return to his home in Philadelphia. Good luck & God Bless.
Jeff, Good Luck to a GREAT GUY!

Welcome to Sam!
As our members return from their northern summer residences, our club, once again, becomes very busy with the many activities available.  Our golf games are back, tennis is getting busier, hence the new limited guest policy is now in effect. Pickleball is gaining players every week and looking forward to their brand new courts adjacent to the basketball courts. On Monday we had 3 courts playing and not everyone has returned yet!  Our water aerobics classes are also gaining fellow swimmers looking to get fit and enjoy the refreshing feel of water exercise to start their day.  Our card rooms are busy, both ladies & men's. Season is here, where did the summer go?

What does everyone think of this strange, but totally legal, pickleball serve?

This little guy was anxious to come into the card room, I wonder if he knew how to play canasta or  gin!

Friday evening, Styr was hopping with many members returning with stories of summer happenings, both good & bad. As usual, food & beverage were plentiful and the music played on all evening long.   It's so nice to see so many friendly faces back healthy & happy.

Sunday afternoon was Football at Styr and boy did we have action. The big game was not supposed to be much of a game between our New York Jets & those bad boy New England Patriots, but a good game it was. Controversy was the name of this game over a disputed touchdown for the New York Jets. It was reversed and New England prevailed in a hard fought battle. In the other exciting must see game, our Miami Dolphins beat up on those favored Atlanta Falcons. Who would have thought? Styr was abuzz with fans from New England, New York, Miami, and Pittsburg as well as Green Bay. It was a fun day at Addison.

Sunday evening was an Italian Feast fit for a king and queen. Our dining room fed over 200 members and guests with Italian delicacies; pasta, steak, chicken, spare ribs, tiramisu and so much more. The food was scrumptious and it appears that our membership really enjoys these Sunday themed dinners.  What a great way to start the unofficial season!

Monday morning was an open board meeting. These meetings are open to our entire membership. Many interesting subjects were discussed.  We like to attend all board meetings because we want to know everything there is to know about what's going on in Addison Reserve and therefore we keep our fingers on the pulse of all aspects of our fantastic country club.  Barry Gordon, our President, has sent out a letter detailing the entire meeting.

Wednesday evening over 200 members and Yankee fans came into "Styr" to watch and enjoy another New York Yankee victory in their fight for the American League pennant.  Addison supplied a "Pop-Up" Dinner, A La Baseball, for those fans who cared to indulge. Many others sat at the high tops so that they could enjoy prime rib night and a 5-0 win by the Yankees. What a great night at Addison!

LET US TICKLE YOUR FUNNY BONE!

FIVE RULES TO REMEMBER IN LIFE:
1. Money cannot buy happiness - but it's far more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than on a bicycle.
2. Forgive your enemy - but remember the moron's name.
3. If you help someone when they're in trouble - they will remember you when they're in trouble again.
4. Alcohol does not solve any problems - but then, neither does milk.
5. Many people are alive only because it's illegal to shoot them.

Male or Female?       You might not have known this, but a lot of non-living objects are actually either male or female.  Here are some examples:
FREEZER BAGS: They are male, because they hold everything.  in, but you can see  right through them.
PHOTOCOPIERS: These are female, because once turned off; it takes a while to warm them up again.

They are an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can also wreak havoc if you push the wrong Buttons.
TIRES: Tires are male, because they go bald easily and are often over inflated
HOT AIR BALLOONS: Also a male object, because to get them to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under their butt.
SPONGES: These are female, because they are soft, squeezable and retain water.
WEB PAGES:
Female, because they're constantly being looked at and frequently getting hit on.
TRAINS: Definitely male, because they always use the same old lines for picking up people.
EGG TIMERS: Egg timers are female because, over time, all the weight shifts to the bottom.
HAMMERS: Male, because in the last 5000 years, they've hardly changed at all, and are occasionally handy to have around.
THE REMOTE CONTROL: Female. Ha! You probably thought it would   be male, but consider this: It easily gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he doesn't always know which buttons to push, he just keeps trying .

A LITTLE CONSTRUCTION NEVER HURT ANYONE!

The netting and tall polls were installed to protect us and our automobiles from stray golf balls on our driving range. The board has promised to plant new very tall trees to cover them and to enhance the view.

After a short delay of pickleball, due to the rain, a beautiful rainbow appeared over our new 4 courts.  This is definitely a good sign!

Ed & Sheila Cohen returned from their trip to Scotland. Here we see The Old Man of Storr. It seems that people hike up this magnificent mountain in order to see the amazing view of the highlands. Below is The Eileen Donna Castle, another incredible view, both located In the Isle of Skye.  They are 2 fantastic pictures and almost look like post cards.  GREAT JOB Ed! We are glad to know that you had a wonderful time.
