Any event brings out the spirit of our club and Halloween was no exception. This was one "SPOOKY" weekend. Starting Friday evening at Styr, members dressed up to their scariest and set out for an evening of fun. All of us enjoyed each other's cleverness in designing many unusual and scary outfits. The pictures below say it all.

Saturday afternoon the rain started and continued throughout the evening, torrential at times. Because our golf course was unplayable on Sunday, our Spooky first "Nine & Dine" had to be cancelled. Many golfers, all dressed up in their Halloween best, came to dinner. Our Nine & Dines are a monthly event that all our golf members should participate in. It is a fun format set up by our professions, Karen & Kevin, which always brings out the best in our members, talent wise as well as sportsmanship wise. It's great when our couples join in and have a super time, on a great country club course, with their fellow members. It also provides a wonderful way to get to know new members. Those who play always enjoy themselves. Next time, sign up, you'll be happy you did.

Sunday again was "Football at Styr". Our New York teams, beset with injuries and loses again succumbed to obviously a better team as the New York Jets were humbled by the Atlanta Falcons. There was, as unusual, a New England contingent rooting on their Patriots and a very boisterous Philadelphia fan base rooting on their Eagles to victory. Another fun Football afternoon at Styr.

Sunday was especially great because the children got involved as well as the parents. Entire families dressed up in ways that only a child's mind would think of, but, our members looked great and of course, we were all terrified. It was all in fun and we a fantastic time at Addison. Just so you know, Sunday evenings Buffet Dinners are a real hit. The varied menu this week consisted of chicken, ribs, meat loaf and steak or turkey, all cooked to perfection. What a delicious and scary evening we had.

Tuesday was the first lady's day tournament for the season, not to be confused with the season's opening day which is to take place on November 14th. Naturally, since today also happens to be Halloween, everyone turned up in orange and black. Let's not forget that orange is the new black!
Above, is Sheryl Gottdiener, a new member and golfer, our customer, playing in her first tournament every. By the way,Sheryl, Cherie Gross, Marcia Berman and Fanny Wieder came in 1st place in the 9 holer group. Wow, that is impressive!

In Villa D'Este Way, on Tuesday October 31st, a few of the residents got together to pass out candy to the children of their neighborhood for Halloween. A table was set out in front of the Singer's home, with not only candy for the kiddies, but also
hors d'oevres and drinks for the adults. It actually became a small block party and everyone enjoyed it so much, that we promised to do it again. It was really nice to spend time with members of our community!

The much anticipated Pickleball courts are almost ready. The rain has suspended the finishing touches because workers can't pour the cement in inclement weather. When we get 3-4 days of no precipitation, they will complete the job and then, get ready for action on our new courts! The players can't wait, we are chomping at the bit!

A LITTLE CONSTRUCTION NEVER HURT ANYONE!
We now have white lane dividers on Addison Reserve Boulevard in front of our Country Club. We are not quite sure what purpose they will serve, but Michael McCarthy seems to feel that they will help with the temporary new parking on that street which will be necessary during construction. We are sure he is correct, but as of yet, it is hard to imagine.

Phil & Carole Sue Spector recently returned from their trip to China. Here they are at The Great Wall of China. They said that in spite of the rainy weather, they had a great time!

Princess Jayden, granddaughter of Marcia & Nolan Berman, celebrates her 3rd Birthday with family. Jayden and her beautiful mommy, Debra, live in Colorado! We are trying to persuade them that Florida should be their new home. We know of great realtors for that job!

This adorable horse costume was designed and put together in 4 months by Macie Cohen, granddaughter of Arlene Acker. Marcie is obviously very talented and only 12 years old. She lives in Roslyn, Long Island, New York. So, if any of you need a costume for next year, now you know who to get in touch with.

These two beautiful babies, Jo on the left and Lanie on the right. Jo was born on 9/28/17 and weighed in at 8.5 lb., while Lanie was born on 10/14/17 at 7 lbs. They both live 15 minuets away from each other and their proud 1st time grandparents are Steve & Shelly Dreifuss. Congrats to everyone and especially to Shelly & Steve's two children who obviously planned this perfectly. Play dates will be easy to make!

As for our Addison Reserve real estate update, we now have 48 homes on the market for sale. Our prices range from $399,000- $3,975.000, of which 17 are estate homes and 31 are zero lot line homes. There are 38 homes with golf memberships and 10 homes with sports available for sale. This week has been very busy real estate wise in Addison, especially for us. There were two closing.
