The rains continue to persist almost every afternoon this week. Our residents have been out there on the golf course, playing tennis or pickleball every morning and getting a real workout in this heat. But, by mid-afternoon, the rains come and thankfully, by then, we are either in the cards rooms, fitness center or just shopping.

Our evenings at Addison Reserve are consistently busy. Wednesday night is a special night here. On Wednesdays many of us eat in Styr for the Summer months. The menu there varies, but the one constant food served is Prime Rib. Our Dining rooms in Taste & Styr are active the rest of the week. Thursday night, lobster specials are the choice of the evening. Sumptuous and tasty to say the least. Friday night at Styr is our special night where most resident members meet up to enjoy each other's company, reminisce about the past week and make plans for the upcoming weeks. As always, the music, camaraderie & savory hors d'oeuvres bring out quite a gathering.

This past Sunday, our chef tried something a little different. Dinner was served in Styr, instead of Taste, and the main course was a variety of fried fish along with turkey, stuffed cabbage, and a delicious Flank steak. Also offered were salads and a variety of vegetables. Naturally, the meal ended with Dana's Delights for dessert. It's always a treat to come to our club, try new venue's, test our pallets and enjoy what Addison offers us, the best of everything.

Les & Barbara Kalmus are visiting Madrid and eating Spanish cuisine, although I think that it looks identical to an American
Omelette. Anyway, they are having a great time and we wish them a speedy return.

As for our Addison Reserve real estate update, we now have 39 homes on the market for sale. Our prices range from $419,000-$3,500,000. There are 10 estate homes and 29 zero lot line homes of which 8 have sports and 31 have golf memberships. The rainy season is here as well as our real estate off season, but showings continue. Naturally, there are fewer people in Florida this time of year however, there have been more showings than we anticipated. This week there were no closings and no homes went into contract but, we did get a new listing located at 7895 L'Aquila Way. This 3 bedroom, plus office, golf membership home, features a great room floor plan with a lovely backyard overlooking the 6th hole of trepidation golf course. This lovely ranch style home is priced to sell at $499,000, a real deal! We also adjusted the asking price on one of our listings located at 7884 Montecito Place. This 4 bedroom, plus office, golf membership home with a private backyard, is now asking $569,000. We have many inquiries on our listings and quite a few buyers coming down for the sole purpose of buying a home in Addison for this upcoming season. We are personally excited with the prospect of our new construction project going up so quickly & so many future residents coming to look at our fantastic country club. When our buyers look at the pictures of what our club will look like when completed, all we get are comments like wow, amazing! That says it all.
