Our club is ours again, no thanks to "Hurricane Dorian." Thankfully, she missed us completely, other than a few rain bands. That's nothing that we're not used to during rainy season down here in South Florida. So, our lives continue and what better way to start the aftermath of a hurricane than "Happy Hour" at Addison Reserve. As is the custom, every 1st Friday of the month we celebrate the evening with half priced drinks, hors d'oeuvres, music, and our "Tapas" menu. For those that want a quieter dinner, "Taste", our main dining room is open as well. This past Friday evening we took advantage of both rooms. We started our evening in "Styr," met some friends and had a drink. We conversed for a good 45 minutes, took some pictures, not to many, and then adjoined to "Taste" for dinner. Our table of 8 was situated in the middle of the dining room surrounded by fellow members, a few reciprocals and lots of laughter all around. Our dinners were fabulous, as always. The Salmon was out of this world and one of our friends had a steak that was seasoned and prepared to perfection. All in all, another fabulous evening at Addison.

SUNDAY SPORTS AT STYR
What a great day of sports we enjoyed at "Styr" from 1:00 pm until much later Sunday evening. The games started with The New Jersey Jets playing The Buffalo Bills on the big screen. The cheering was consistent throughout the first half, but the cheers turned to heartache, as usual, for those diehard Jet fans, as their team collapsed in the 4th quarter to lose 17-16. On the smaller screens throughout Styr we enjoyed The Eagles dismantle The Washington Redskins while others watched The Ravins destroy The Miami Dolphins.
At 4:00 we started watching The U.S. Open Tennis finals between Rafael Nadal and Danill Medvedev, which lasted almost 5 hours. We alternated watching tennis while at the same time watching our New York Giants get annihilated by The Dallas Cowboys. It was a great day of sports but not for our New York fans. On a better note for New Yorkers, we also turned to watched our beloved Yankees take apart The Boston Red Sox Sunday night. Most stayed to watch the end of the Giants football game and the tennis match before going home to watch the Yankees. It was a great day at Styr.
Just another reminder that on Sundays, besides the great sports we all enjoyed, there was a wonderful football menu to choose from. In the evening, Addison offered a comfort food menu while watching more games. It's a great way to enjoy your Sunday. Come on down and join the fun.

Look what's going on at our once beautiful Esplanade!
What a mess, what dust..........
This week, Addison has begun the demolition of the old Esplanade. Very sad - but a good sign.
As we are in the final stages on the construction site, there are many inspectors coming onto the property.
We hopefully, should be complete by next Thursday. It will take a couple days for county officials to sign-off on the CO.
We are hoping that it is completed by next weekend and that we can open the fitness center, the spa, and tennis center the week of September 16.
The restaurant will probably take 10 more days.
Everyone, keep you fingers crossed that Addison continues to pass their inspections.

Congratulations to Stacey Weinstein, our Group Fitness Coordinator. Stacey was selected as the September Instructor of the Month by the Athletic & Fitness Association of America. Anyone who has taken a class with Stacey would attest to the fact that she seems to be powered by an EverReady Battery. She has boundless energy, not to mention a great body! Congrats to Stacey!

JUST IN TIME FOR ROSH HASHANAH
Patti Flesher-Cohen is sharing with us a recipe for Stuffed Cabbage that she is preparing for the first night of Rosh Hashanah on Sunday September 29th.
First, Patti chops up some healthy veggies that she is going to cook down and use in her sauce.
Now start boiling the cabbage. Par boil the whole head of cabbage, then take off leaves, and par boil again.
Mix in your vegetables and the sauce is done.
Then comes the meat prep and the assembly. When this is done, cook all together. This is how it looks only 4 hrs in.
2 more hours and your done. Patti says it's a 2 day job, but they are not only beautiful, they are healthy too! No salt added and only a little Splenda. This is for all you die hard cooks! Have fun, but most importantly, have a Healthy & Happy Holiday!
