National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National

Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually.

During National Nurses Week and throughout the year, the American Nursing Associati on is proud to celebrate the  role  nurses play in delivering the highest level of quality care to patients. The National Nurses Week 2015 theme "Ethical Practice. 

Quality Care." recognizes the importance of ethics in nursing and acknowledges the strong commitment, compassion and care nurses display in their practice and  profession. 

Our nurses work literally around the clock to provide  comprehensive and compassionate care where ever that  care is needed. Most recently, our nurses have been a key component to our ability to allow our individuals to continue to live in their home with us despite very unique and challenging health needs. 

 
Nursing support does not just occur in our programs, our

nurses bring their expertise and skill to our consumers regardless of their location - our nursing staff are strong advocates and ambassadors wherever the need is - hospitals, Doctors offices, rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes. Their knowledge of and genuine concern for those in their care is apparent as they negotiate various health care systems to secure the best services and attention possible.
