For the past 10 years Yoko Ono, Bag One Arts and Legacy Fine Art & Productions have brought this exhibit to John's adopted home of New York City in tribute of his birthday and as a medium to raise funds and awareness for Citymeals-on-Wheels, an amazing non-profit organiztion devoted to feeding homebound elderly throughout the 5 boroughs. As the exhibit returns to the "Land of Milk & Honey", for what would have been John's 72nd Birthday, the focus this year is on people, on us, on all of John's fans as we continue to work together to make this a better world. You will have an opportunity to see John as an artist in the true sense of the word & not only take a look into his mind but experience "A Day in the Life" of John Lennon through his drawings, sketches and written words from his days as a Beatle up until his untimely death.
Borrowing a line from the song Imagine, "Imagine there's no hunger, it's easy if you try", this event exemplifies John's spirit by using his artwork, music and message as a forum to leave a positive impact on the greater community. It's an opportunity for John's legions of fans to "Come Together" and celebrate his messages of peace and love through his artwork and songwriting while at the same time helping an underserved and oftentimes forgotten group of people.
A special thank you goes out to Invesco for graciously donating the space in order to help perpetuate John's spirit and to make a difference through Citymeals-on-Wheels.
Throughout the years the exhibit has been ever changing but the message has always remained the same.... IMAGINE....Join us in Remembering John Lennon.
Sincerely,
