Popcorn Trainings
|
Please note: Attendance at a popcorn training is one of the requirements to opt-in to returns this year.
This summer, each county will host two popcorn kickoff events. First will be a Popcorn 101 training, covering all the basics to a successful sale for any new unit popcorn kernels and anyone getting involved for the first (or second) time with the sale.
The second will be the main kickoff, for all unit volunteers involved in the popcorn sale. Whether you're a popcorn rookie or a seasoned veteran (with butter, cheese etc.!), this is the kickoff for you. All the new elements of the sale will be unveiled, as well as all the key information you need to know to have a successful sale this fall.

Cub Adventures at Camp Hart - UPDATE
|

It's not too late to sign up for Cub Adventures at Camp Hart! There are still a limited number of openings for the July 24 session. For either session you have the option to attend for the full 5-night or the short 3-night session.
Cub Adventures at Camp Hart is a true Scout overnight summer camp experience developed specifically for Cubs. A typical day begins with the optional "Polar Bear" swim before breakfast followed by morning colors and breakfast in the dining hall. The mornings are filled with our all-new Adventure Tracks where all youth will be challenged with age-appropriate activities and learning experiences. We have the Pioneer Track for our Wolfs, the Voyager Track for our Bears and the Pathfinder Track for our Webelos. Older siblings and parents are encouraged to attend tracks with their Cubs. These tracks will include such activities as fire building, hiking, campfire cooking, nature exploration, physical skills and games, conservation and ecology, and fishing to name a few; all sure to be fun and challenging experiences for the Cubs and maybe for the adults as well.
After lunch in the dining hall the afternoons are filled with activities of your choice including swimming, boating, all kinds of field and team sports, handicraft, Scoutcraft and four different target shooting sports - archery, BB, slingshot and rock throwing. After a bit of well-deserved rest and maybe a slushy or ice cream from the trading post, we will all meet once again on our parade field for retreat followed directly by dinner in the dining hall. However, our day does not end there. Every evening we have a different, exciting, camp-wide activity be it a campfire, a twilight swim, our Adventure Quest or an outdoor adventure movie with popcorn.
For those already signed up for Cub Adventures, please note that full payment is currently due. Payments can be made via check to the Council or by credit card over the phone by calling Carol Trupe at 484-654-9233. Stretching your FOS Gift
|

If you have already contributed to the Friends of Scouting Campaign, THANK YOU. However, there are several ways you can increase the effectiveness of your 2011 gift. Matching Gifts and Dollars for Doers are both great ways to support Scouting, and are available to many who have already contributed.
Need a great example?
The Lincoln Financial Group contributes on behalf of their employees. For every 50 hours an employee gives to an organization such as the Boy Scouts, Lincoln Financial Group will contribute $500 through their LIVE Program (Lincoln Invests in Volunteer Experiences.) Do YOU work for Lincoln Financial? Go to www.lfg.com/LincolnPageServer?LFGPage=/lfg/llc/abt/rel/vol/index.html to find out more information.
Matching Gifts: EASY (and cost no more than you've already given.)
A Matching gift is when your company, organization or group will match a percentage of your direct contribution to the Cradle of Liberty Council. Some match 1:1, others 2:1. Most of the time securing a matching gift is as simple as filling out an online form from your company to have your contribution matched. For more information or for assistance in having your FOS donation matched by your company, please contact your HR department, your District Executive or Jennifer Dotter, Development Director, at 484-654-9211.
How about Dollars for Doers?
Dollars for Doers is a gift made on your behalf for time contributed to an organization that qualifies (such as the Scouts). Most companies contribute up to twice a year anywhere from $250.00-$1000.00. Please see your HR department for specific requirements.
...Still want to make an FOS Contribution?
There's still plenty of time to get in your contribution or pledge for 2011. You can donate online HERE (click the 'Donate' button at the bottom,) or call the Council office at 610-688-6900.
