Hello, It's Been A While...
|
I haven't produced a newsletter for a while, since late May actually. I have been struggling with some minor but nagging health problems as well as just feeling completely exhausted and honestly haven't felt much like writing. I finally got part of the problem fixed last week and I can say with pleasure, "Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now..."
Some of the news in this edition will be old news for many but I will check down my normal list of subjects for those who didn't know... There has been an impressive amount of news and new products from the world of DCC since I last produced my newsletter. Hang on folks, we have a lot to talk about...
So the Nation Train Show 2016 was mostly a success. I met so many of you in person which was totally awesome and really made this worth doing. Sales were brisk so I came really close to breaking even on the event. Believe it or not, I can call that a success. The only big hang up was processing order expediently which will always be problem for me...
Mrs. V and my friends Nick, Steve and Gary were there to help and I can't say it enough...

Digitrax DCC EVO Evolution Advanced 5A/8A Starter Sets
Digitrax has released a new line of command stations, throttles and starter sets to update their line of DCC control products.
The new
EVOLUTION Series Starter Sets
come with everything new users need to get started with an Advanced System. They system comes in both Standard Tethered and Duplex Radio. The main system components are the DCS210 Advanced Command Station, DT500 series Advanced Super Throttle, either a UP5 of UR92, and a PS615 power supply. With all these components you'll be ready to run right out of the box!
The DCS210 is an Advanced Command Station/Booster, it can run up to 100 locomotives and 100 throttles. The DCS210 is complete with full read/ write programming, Loco Reset and EZ routes buttons, and also a separate programming output so you can run and program at the same time.
The DT500 series Advanced super throttle gives you direct control of two locos at a time with all the powerful features and flexibility serious model railroaders demand. The DT500 series is designed to handle nearly every aspect of layout control.
You can run trains and consist, control up to 30 functions such as sound, program decoders, set up and operate routes, and much more. With soft On/Off Switch and advanced power saving you can operate longer than ever.

Updated Firmware has been released for the DT402 series throttle and the DCS240 Advanced Command Station.
It is recommended that customers keep their products up to date with the
Latest Firmware Revisions.
NOTE:
SBS4DCC has noted an increase in calls relating to compatibility issues between
Digitrax command stations and competitors decoders. Nearly all of these issues have been resolved through firmware updates.

Digitrax Throttle Conversions
DT402 Throttles will not be upgradeable to the DT500 platform. There are other throttle conversions available.

Digitrax Simplex Radio Retirement
We are announcing the retirement of the Simplex Radio product line effective on February 1st, 2017.
We will continue to ship new DT402R and UT4R throttles up until February 1st, 2017. We will continue to service and repair Simplex Radio products untill we are out of parts.
The DT500 series throttle will not be available in a Simplex Radio configuration. DT402 and UT4 throttles can still be upgraded to Duplex Radio.
Of course this means that remaining stock on these items have been moved to the "Shelf In The Corner" with Clearance Sale pricing to boot!
