The Baldwin County School District announced at its board meeting this month that it will be extending Superintendent Dr. Noris Price's contract for an additional three years.

"Dr. Price has been a tremendous addition to our board and our district here in Baldwin County.  Under her leadership, we've seen our schools make considerable improvements across nearly every metric and we're confident that she is the right person to continue leading our district toward our goal of becoming a world-class educational system." said Baldwin County Board of Education Chairman John Jackson.

“My sincere thanks to the Baldwin County School Board for the confidence and trust they have placed in me to continue to lead our school district forward. I pledge the highest level of commitment to high standards with a focus on ensuring all of our students achieve academic success,” said Dr. Noris Price.

Volunteers Encourage Students to Finish School

As a day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., BCSD organized volunteers to come out over the holiday and visit the homes of students who needed some extra encouragement to graduate high school. The volunteers offered these students information about the options available to them to finish their high school education, the income differences between those with diplomas compared to those that don't and shared some personal stories about the power education can have in changing their lives.

A sincere thanks to all of the volunteers who chose to serve their community on MLK Day with us and our students here in Baldwin County.
