Well, 2016 has been a stand-out year for DGT. We added another staff member, built wonderful community partnerships, offered dozens of workshops and events, and created new tools and resources to make "giving back" integral to every family's life. Just in case you missed them during the year, here's a roundup of our best tips, advice and projects ideas of 2016.
One quick note: If you believe DGT's work is valuable to you - and to a nation and world in need of more folks focusing on kindness and compassion - please take a moment to keep us growing by
making a year-end donation
. We are sustained by the generosity of those who use our resources, and we're deeply grateful to each and every donor.

BEST 2016 BIG-HEARTED BOOKS
|
Here are some of our favorite big-hearted books (and book collections) of 2016. All would make good holiday gift-giving ideas, too. Books like these can stimulate meaningful conversations with your little ones. Such talks are some of the best ways we know to let your children know that your family stands for kindness and concern for others.
The Journey
by Francesca Sanna. The difficult and often wrenching story of a refugee family.
They All Saw a Cat by Brendan Wenzel. The gorgeous illustrations help the reader see the world through the eyes of different animals.
Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk. A powerful novel of one girl's compassion and strength in the face of bullying.
When Friendship Followed Me Home
by Paul Griffin. This sad but hopeful book, which deals with a variety of difficult issues, tells the story of Ben, a former foster kid, who befriends a quirky girl named Halley.
