What makes you tic?  6th-8th Grade Assembly with Marc Elliot,
Inspirational Speaker

Today our sixth through eighth grade students listened to Marc Elliot and
his inspiring presentation about tolerance. Marc has Tourette Syndrome
and another medical condition which impacts his daily life similar to
Chron's disease.  Marc captivated our students with his stories of growing
up with these daily challenges.

His stories were moving and funny.  Our students were mesmerized and
touched by his presentation.  His overall message was this: we do not know
the challenges and struggles that another person faces so if someone looks
different, behaves differently or seems somehow different than ourselves,
we need to remember we can not possibly know their story or their struggle
so we should not make assumptions about them.  We should show extreme
kindness, and live and let live.

Below is a link to a brief overview of Marc's presentation as he has
performed all over the country with his inspirational story:

Thank you Pierce PTO for sponsoring this assembly through our Brookline
Arts Council program!

Sincerely,
Pipier Smith-Mumford
