Sashwati Roy, PhD, and her research team have developed a portable, adhesive dressing that conducts a continuous electrical current to chronic skin wounds, speeding up healing and reducing risk of infection. Early results demonstrated that infected wounds healed better and more quickly than standard plain dressing.

This new dressing has important implications not only for those suffering from chronic wounds among the patient population, but also for wounded soldiers on the battle front.
