A Message from the Head of School:

Dear CES Families,

Welcome back from Spring Break!  I hope you are refreshed and ready for the full-speed-ahead race to the end of the year.  There is a lot to pack in!

This week, we have the honor and privilege of having The Rev. Karen Johnson presiding over our chapel services.  She was the greatly beloved Chaplain at CES for many years. It is such a joy to have her here. Today, she talked to the students about the ways in which the Old Testament pretold the events that are described in the New Testament... namely, the coming of a Messiah who would serve as the "good news" of God's love in the world for generations.  She went on to describe how during Jesus' resurrected time on earth, he had the opportunity to remind his disciples that they had the Old Testament available to them as a tool for helping them understand his crucifixion and resurrection. Then she talked about the many tools we have available to us to help guide us in living in a Godly way.  First, we have Jesus, God incarnate. Next, we have the Old and New Testaments, the teachings. And last, we have the sacraments which bring us into contact with the relational Jesus. She is a wonderful teacher and your children were listening intently to her stories and message.

At CES, we continue our celebration of the Easter season... a reminder that love does indeed conquer all and that the light will shine in the darkness.

With love and gratitude,

Caroline Chapin, Ed.D.
