~ Literary Arts Festival Author Visit ~

Thank you Shannon Jones!

The Lower School had a wonderful visit with Author (and CES Parent) Shannon Jones on Monday when she shared her beautiful book, That's Just Me!

This book has such an important message for children: celebrate the unique qualities of all cultures.   We are so thankful that we had the opportunity to hear it!

If you'd still like to order a copy of the book, please return  order forms by this Friday.

A Message from the  Head of School:

Dear CES Families,

Conversations continue about the future of Christ Episcopal Church and School.  It is very exciting, and there is a lot of positive energy in dreaming about a new vision for the look and feel of our campus.  If you have not had a chance to look at the documents we are creating, or hear about the thinking that supports the proposed actions, please go to the web site where you will find a lot of the information.  Scroll to the bottom of the home page where you will see a button that says, "CES Capital Campaign."  Click on that button.  You will then find yourself on a newly created landing page that is hosting two documents:   Readiness Assessment Final Report and Christ Episcopal Church and School Future Plan .

The Report is a compilation of data that was collected during the six weeks of focus group meetings.  The Plan is a copy of the slideshow that was used during the focus group meetings and delineates the rationale for the proposal. Please take some time to review these two important documents, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me or one of the current members of our Board of Governors.  There is still plenty of time for conversation and input.  Nothing has happened, yet!

In other news, as I know you are well aware, the end to the school year is rapidly approaching!
  • Tonight is the final orchestra concert. It is held in the Murdock Room.
  • Middle school exams have started and will continue for the next two weeks.
  • Ryan H. (CES '22) will serve as Head of School for the Day on Monday, May 22.
  • Field Day and Community Picnic are on May 26.  See the school calendar for more details.
  • And, of course, field trips, award ceremonies and graduation ceremonies are coming up, too!
It is an exciting and busy time of the year.  Continue to keep careful watch over class and school-wide emails so that you do not miss important details.  There is a lot to celebrate.

With love and appreciation,

Caroline Chapin, Ed.D.
Head of School
