As of Monday, COVID-19 case numbers are on the decline for the third week in a row in the Commonwealth, with a positivity rate of 2.7 percent.
According to WFPL, 1.9 million Kentuckians had been vaccinated as of Monday, which is 43 percent of the Commonwealth’s population.
The mask mandate in Kentucky remains in effect until at least June 11, with some restrictions still in place. Businesses and organizations can continue to keep masking requirements after that date if they so choose.
While the number of cases is on a downward trend, the pandemic is still ongoing and still requires vigilance on the part of the Kentucky State University community. Continue wearing your mask, practicing social distancing of at least six feet, washing your hands frequently and getting vaccinated if you have not already done so. The COVID-19 vaccinations provide protection against contracting and spreading the virus.
