Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced this week that 2 million Kentuckians have received the COVID-19 vaccination, helping slow the pandemic. As of Tuesday, the positivity rate in the Commonwealth was 2.52 percent.
Beshear also reported that the country was seeing the lowest level of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, thanks to safe and effective vaccines.
According to the federal government, half of all adults in the country are fully vaccinated, with a goal of 70 percent receiving at least one dose by July 4.
While news at the state and federal levels are optimistic, the pandemic is still ongoing. Please continue to wear a mask, wash your hands thoroughly and often, practice social distancing of at least six feet and consider getting vaccinated if you haven’t already done so.
