The first fall of snow
is not only an event,
it is a magical event.
You go to bed in one kind of world
and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment
then where is it to be found?

THE 469 CHALLENGE NEEDS YOU!

    Photo from NPS

The 469 Challenge continues! In this season of giving remember the Parkway with a gift that will help protect it all year. Help us reach our goal of 469 gifts by December 31 - one for each glorious mile of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Becoming a monthly donor helps us even more.

Donations of all sizes through Dec. 31 will help us reach this goal so the Parkway we enjoyed yesterday and today will be there for the future.

Thank you for your support of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Follow our progress - and make a donation - at brpfoundation.org/469.

Kids in Parks News

View from the Rockfish Valley TRACK Trail

Last week, our Kids in Parks program opened 4 new TRACK Trails, bringing their total network of TRACK Trails to more than 70! The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, in partnership with the North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association, funded the installation of 2 of those trails: Lake Benson Park in Garner, and Shallow Ford Natural Area in Burlington. The George Washington Memorial Parkway TRACK Trail, our 4thTRACK Trail in Washington, DC, was installed in partnership with the National Park Service and was financed in part by the National Park Service's CONNECT TRAILS TO PARKS program, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System in 2018. The final trail opened last week, located a few miles off the Parkway in Nelson County, VA, was installed in partnership with the Rockfish Valley Foundation, with grant funds provided by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
