A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO
Spring has officially arrived, but with Ohio weather, we're going to hang on to winter just a wee-bit longer.

Last weekend, the Chamber hosted the Southern Ohio Home & Garden Show. This was our first year managing the event. Thanks to our sponsors and volunteers who helped with this effort. We're already making plans for next year, including a special homegrown marketplace for cash and carry flowers and plants.

I would like to update you on our efforts in leading the Downtown Associates as its managing agent. We have met for two months to start planning the downtown collaborative efforts for marketing and events. We've had good response from some of our downtown businesses, but would love to have more input. Soon, new banners will be hanging throughout some of our downtown, beautiful flowers will again adorn our sidewalks and events promoting our local businesses will begin to formulate.

One such event will be the Downtown Bloom Tour. This will be held in May over Mother's Day weekend and will be the Official Downtown Spring Open House. We understand some shop owners have coordinated among themselves to be open this weekend and we invite you to stop by and support our local downtown businesses. But we want to highlight the community with a collaborative effort by all. So, start thinking of ways to make Chillicothe Bloom with special planters and flowers in front of your establishments. We'll be holding a contest to vote for the prettiest display. Stay tuned for more details on the Official Downtown Spring Open House coming Mother's Day weekend, sponsored by Discover Downtown Chillicothe Ohio.

In our continuing effort to help share news about our community's recovery over addiction, please visit this site for helpful information about how opioid misuse can harm America's workforce, shared by the Ohio Department of Public Safety:  http://www.cdcfoundation.org/businesspulse/opioid-overdose-epidemic-infographic#intro

Enjoy the change in the weather over the next few days. Hopefully by Monday, we'll be back to opening our windows and wearing sunglasses again.
