WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP
Would you like to spend 5 sun-up to sun-down days of excitement and lifelong memories in Washington D.C. this next summer,  June 6-10 ? Join Mr. Fishburn on  Wednesday, September 16 , at  7:00  for the informational meeting (in his classroom at the elementary building) to learn how you can be a part of this impactful trip.  We will go over program costs, details, sample itineraries, and answer any questions you might have!  The trip is open to students in 3rd-6th grades and their parents (or grandparents); students above 6th grade are welcomed by application only - contact Mr. Fishburn.  I can't wait to spend an unforgettable 5 days with you in our nation's capital next summer!
CERAMICS CLUB
Ceramics Club is starting up again this year, meeting in the Middle School Art Room (103) after school on Thursdays until  4:30 PM  beginning  Thursday, September 10 .  This is opened up to kindergarten through 8th grade.  Students may use the shuttle from the elementary to the middle school without charge if they are attending a session.  Ceramics Club is a time for students to create their own creations out of clay, paint or glaze them, and possibly work on the potter's wheel. There will not be any assignments or set projects, but Mr. F. will be there to give advice and get some creativity flowing.  Show up whenever you'd like.  The cost is $8 per day charged to your TADS account.  Contact Jon Fiala at [email protected] for more information.  If you created something in Ceramics Club last year, it will still be in the art room for another few weeks.
POTTERY FOR DONATIONS

If you would like a piece of pottery for yourself or a quick present for someone, Mr. Fiala has made a supply that can be yours as a thank you for a small donation to the CCLS Art Fund which helps with art supplies.  If you are interested, there are a few of them on display at the Middle School, and all may be seen at Mr. Fiala's classroom page or  www.jonfiala.com .
WEBSTER GARDENS - NEW MEMBER CLASS
CCLS is blessed to be a community with diverse backgrounds as we nurture our children with a Christian education.  Whether you have a strong background in the Christian faith or none at all, you are invited to investigate the core beliefs of the Christian faith as understood by the Lutheran church in a course called, What We Believe  at the Lutheran Church of  Webster   Gardens.  While there is no obligation, completion of the class can lead to membership in the church.  Beginning September 27th , the course runs for six  Sunday  mornings from 9:30-10:25 am.  For more information or to sign up, click  here  or contact Michelle Burford, Coordinator of Connections, at  michelle@webstergardenschurch.org  or  314-961-5275 .

There is no SCRIP this week due to the holiday. If you have any questions or comments about  SCRIP , please feel free to e-mail me at  [email protected]  or call me at  314-822-7774 .
