THE CHILDREN'S CHAMPION

Thank you for spending a part of your busy day catching up with TJC. With the tumultuous federal landscape and all the stops and starts, we must hold steady in our advocacy for children. Please keep sharing information, driving calls to our senators, and engaging advocates to rally around our common goals - quality, affordable care for every child in Tennessee.

If there is any information you would like us to share on your behalf, including events and resources, please reply to this email.

THE MORE YOU KNOW...

Some people who are enrolled in TennCare and/or Medicaid Savings Plans are going through the redetermination process. It is important for these people to make sure their addresses are correct in TennCare's system. It is also important for them to complete the renewal packet if they receive one. If they need help with a packet or if they are cut from TennCare, they can call us for help.  We can provide resources and trainings to advocates who help with these packets.

LOOKING FORWARD

The Senate released their version of the AHCA, the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) on June 22. The CBO score estimates that 22 million people will lose coverage and $772 billion will be cut from Medicaid. What does this mean for Tennessee? An estimated  634,600 Tennesseans will lose coverage and $440 million will be cut from TennCare in the next 10 years.

Sen. Bob Corker wants to hear from concerned Tennesseans. Please email him today and urge him to vote NO on the BCRA. He may not have requested it, but you can also email Sen. Lamar Alexander.

Sincerely,

Kinika Young
