Well summer finally got here but I don't think it will last very long! I hope you have had a great week and are anticipating a wonderful weekend.
Before I get started I want to let you know our photographer, Dannie Eifert, went home to be with the Lord Aug 28th. For those of you who remember, Dannie suffered a severe heart attack a few years ago but the Lord used that event to bring Dannie to making a decision for Christ. While he will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing we will see him again! Please pray for his wife Rita and the family.
Last Saturday we were in Litchfield at the Community Center. Judy Plaster and her committee do a great job in promoting their Gospel Fest weekend. They had a full day of activities and we were honored to be on the evening program with our dear friends The Wanda Mountain Boys and the Patriot Quartet. It was like old home week and we had a great time. I would ask you remember Judy Plasters and her pastor Rev. Ed Dively in prayer. They are both battling cancer but it didn't stop them from giving their all! We appreciate the great attendance and the sweet spirit. I also want to thank everyone who stopped by the table to share their sympathy regarding Mom's home going. We continue to get cards and rejoice in the friendship of such thoughtful people.
We pulled into Clinton, IA about 3 am Sunday morning at Calvary Baptist Church. We were glad it worked out for us to be back in Clinton. We were scheduled last winter and had to cancel at the last minute due to ice. We appreciate Pastor Ryan Carpenter and his sweet family and all our friends in the Clinton area. We figure that we have been going to Clinton around 30 years so they really feel like family. They had many visitors but one face we missed was Bion McConnell. He was in the hospital but we were blessed to have his wife Rae with us for part of the service. We really appreciate the ladies putting together a wonderful lunch for us to take on the bus since we weren't able to stay for lunch. They always roll out the red carpet and make us feel like their own. God bless you all!
Sunday evening were back in Delevan, IL at the Methodist Church. Around 30 years ago they were able to buy property adjacent to the church that housed Adult movies. They tore the building down and made a parking lot which was greatly needed. Each year they have a block party on the parking lot and celebrate the blessing of the Lord! It was great to be with them again and share in this day of rejoicing in the mighty hand of God!
What had been a hot day turned into a beautiful evening. They served dessert and ice cream and they even saved some for us afterwards. All weekend people brought goodies to the bus and we want to say a huge "Thank You" for everything! We really didn't need it but, oh my, it was super! We have some really sweet friend!!!
Two weeks ago today Mariah released her first solo project "God is my Refuge". Ginger Pitchers produced the project and they recorded it at Brady's new studio "The Tune Room". They all did an awesome job and I know you will be blessed by this project so call or email to get your copy today.
We will be in northern Illinois all weekend so we will look forward to seeing all our friends in the area. God bless and hope to see you soon!
On the Journey,
The Chosen Ones
