Prevent Tick Bites in July with EDWM Health Ministry's Tips!

Fun outdoor activities are on the rise with warm weather days. Reduce your risk of tick bites and poison ivy skin rashes by following safe practices. Over the next 3-4 weeks tick bites are at their peak in western Michigan. An infected tick bite can, in rare cases, cause Lyme disease amongst other diseases. And watch for green (red in fall), pointed- tip, three-leafed clusters that may likely be poison ivy. Besides a rash, skin infection can sometimes result after having had contact with poison ivy.
