District News
Superintendent's Corner
There is no denying that it's graduation season here at Whitnall. Preparations for the ceremony (which is now only two days away!) are underway. Today, I attended the senior breakfast and participated in the graduation practice. Yesterday, I got to attend the second annual grad walk. Our graduates returned to our elementary schools to reminisce about where their Whitnall journey began. The elementary students offered congratulations and got a glimpse of their future. It was a very special event. Check out the photos of the grad walk on our Facebook page !

After the excitement of the graduation ceremony on Sunday, even more excitement awaits us in the final week of school. Field trips, events, and beautiful weather! Congratulations and good luck to our girls softball team; they just became sectional champs and are headed to state! So many wonderful things happening at the end of a wonderful school year. I'm feeling lots of #WhitnallPride.

Gifted & Talented Programming Update Meeting
Tuesday, June 5th | 6 PM to 7 PM
Tentative location: WSD Community Board Room

We will be holding a meeting for parents of students who are receiving Gifted and Talented programming services. This meeting will cover changes that took place over the course of the 2017-18 school year, and address updates for 2018-19.

We are still looking for parent volunteers to form a GT Parent Engagement group! Several people have expressed tentative interest, but no outright volunteers have emerged as of yet. Please consider participating; the group would meet quarterly or as needed to discuss relevant topics and plan family engagement events. We will address the need for volunteers at the June 5th meeting, but if you are interested, please contact Lynn LeRoy at 414-525-8405 or [email protected] .

We have scheduled this meeting to immediately follow the GT meeting, as there may be parents who wish to attend both meetings.

Be a Host Family
The Whitnall High School chapter of AFS is asking families in the district to consider hosting an exchange student for the 2018-19 school year. Sharing your home with a student from another country is a wonderful way to learn about other cultures and improve communication. By experiencing what makes us different, we also get to learn about what we have in common. For more information, contact Sara Brand at [email protected] .
