Superintendent's Corner
We are all savoring the last few days of the 2016-17 school year and celebrating the successes of our staff and students--and there are many. While students are excited to start their summer vacation, there is also a sense of sadness that they won't see their classmates and teachers every day--this is a sign of the strong and caring relationships that have developed at Whitnall.

My first year at Whitnall has been a wonderful experience, and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the students, staff, parents, and community members and becoming part of this community. I hope to see many of you on June 15 as we plan for the Whitnall graduate and our future!

While the pace slows down a bit during the summer, we are still busy with summer school, maintenance projects, and summer cleaning. Many of our educators will be participating in professional learning and planning during the summer to enhance their skills and opportunities for students.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

June 15th

One week from today is our Hopes for the Whitnall Graduate event!

Join us in conversation about what we want for the learners at Whitnall! First, a cookout at 5:30 PM. Then, a meeting from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Both parts of the event will be held in the WHS Cafeteria.

Let's answer the following questions!

  • What do we want for all our students?
  • What should define us?
  • What actions do we desire?

Be sure to register for the event here!

A Message from Jackie Winter

As the school year comes to an end and I prepare to transition to the Director of Pupil Services and Special Education, I wanted to take a moment to thank the Whitnall School District and community for the support during my ten years at Whitnall High School.

During the many teacher interviews I have participated in over the years, many candidates have asked, “What do you like best about the district?” Time and time again, teachers respond, “The students.” I couldn’t agree more. Whitnall students are respectful, caring, fun individuals who care about others and their school. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of their lives.

In the coming years, I look forward to expanding my contact to the elementary and middle levels, while narrowing my focus to special services and special education. I look forward to meeting many new students and families!
