Happy November! As there were flurries earlier this week, it is a reminder that we will soon be entering into cold and snowy weather. Be sure to check our new website for school closing information. We are continuing to work with school districts in our region to develop the 2018-19 school calendar and hope to have one available in December to share with families.
In the next couple weeks, we will be holding our parent-teacher conferences and our second parent learning academy. We hope you can join us for these events.
On November 6, the board will hear a presentation on our facilities needs survey. We will record the meeting and have the survey results available the next day for those unable to attend. The board will begin discussions on the survey results and next steps toward a referendum on November 13 at their board meeting.
Congratulations to our WHS girls' swimming team for their conference championship. Last night, I was able to attend the dress rehearsal of the high school play which opens this weekend. And, most importantly, I spent time in classrooms this week watching the engagement of our learners and educators. I loved seeing the excitement of the first graders who were learning about space with golf balls and cocoa!
