District News
Superintendent's Corner
As you are aware, we kicked off the week with a professional learning day focused on data. As a district staff, we reviewed our historical demographic and achievement data and then spent time looking at building and classroom data. Several of our annual district goals are related to understanding our student achievement data in order to develop strategies in our cycle of continuous improvement.

This week, I was able to get into all of our buildings to witness great relationships being built through activities such as WMS advisory and the anti-bullying presentation by former Packer, LeRoy Butler. And, as we know, the individual conversations in classrooms and hallways between adults and students. Great relationships are key to learning.

Thank you to everyone who completed our facilities needs study. Please see information below about next steps in the process. We hope you can join us!

Fall is in the air with the weather cooling down. WHS sponsored Haunted Hallways last night, and the HCE Harvest Parade is today! Tonight is the second round of playoffs for our football team with local rival Greendale. Go Falcons!

Our New Website
Earlier this week, we launched our new website ! Many users found our old website to be outdated, difficult to navigate, and limiting. In creating our new website, we focused on providing a fresh look, sensible organization, and new capabilities. We encourage you to visit the website--located at the same address as before--and get a feel for it. There is a district page as well as a page for each of our schools. Staff at all buildings have been working hard to build their pages, making sure all the critical information was on the site before we launched. We will always be enhancing and adding to the site so feel free to reach out to a school if you have feedback on their page or to our communication coordinator if you have feedback on the district page. We hope you are as excited as we are!
Whitnall Child Development Day
We are hosting the 20th annual "Whitnall Child Development Day" on Friday, November 3rd. The program combines a developmental screening of preschool children with an opportunity for parents to learn more about child and family related services in the community. All families with 3-year-olds residing in the Whitnall School District are welcome to attend. Please complete this form to register.
Red Ribbon Week
Whitnall is observing Red Ribbon Week (Oct 23-31), which is meant to engage children and their families in drug resistance.

Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs; yet, only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. Start talking with your child today. Consider visiting the sites below for ideas on starting the conversation:
