Dance Corner News: September 2016

WELCOME BACK!  I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by.  I hope everyone was able to find some time this summer to enjoy the beautiful weather with family and friends. I was lucky enough to sneak away to the Cape for a couple long weekends between Princess Camps and Summer classes.  My dogs Tippy and Hugo love to chase each other through the dunes and wrestle in the sand. We had a blast!

I also had the opportunity to attend The Dance Teacher Summit in New York City at the end of July with several of our instructors. It was an amazing continuing education experience for us all and we have been working throughout the month of August to implement new ideas and innovations to refresh our classes, our dance shop and our dance community. My staff and I are excited to share all this with our students and their families this season.

You will notice some changes to our Dance Shop. We are transforming that space into not just our shop, but our office and reception space.   As always, you can stop by my office in the Dance Shop or email or call me directly with any questions or concerns. If you are not able to connect with me, please stop into the shop and Janice, Chris, Claudia, Jeanne or Marci (our incredible customer service staff) will be happy to help you. They can assist you with questions about classes, billing, enrollment, costumes, etc, If they can't answer your question, they will be sure to let me know what's going on and I will reach out to you myself.

We also have some new, trendy, tank tops, sweatshirts and t-shirts available for a limited time only in our Dance Shop and of course, we have everything you need for dance class, so stop by before or after your class to check us out!

Please join me in welcoming our new instructors, Brooke Cotter and Kaitlyn King to the team this season.  These ladies are qualified, talent and energetic instructors and I can't wait to work with them this year.  I know our students are going to love their classes!

Also, I am so proud of Miss Ali for creating our newest program for the special needs community, Leaps and Bounds. For many years I have wanted to create and add programs to our schedule that serve children with special needs, and Miss Ali has the training and experience to implement our first movement class especially designed for these children.  If you are interested in finding out more or registering for Leaps and Bounds, please click here.  We will be offering 6-week sessions of this class throughout the year.

My staff and I are are continuing to develop new programs for you this season. Stay tuned for more info on our "Hamilton" themed musical theater workshop, Tummy Time class for infants, Crawlers Club for little movers ages 7- 14 months, and more! We are working hard on adding programs to serve children of all ages and interests.

To our students and parents, I would like to thank you for choosing The Dance Corner. I promise I will do everything I can to exceed your expectations!

My philosophy of dance education is that we are not just creating great dancers, we are creating great people.  I want your child's experience at The Dance Corner to be positive, confidence building and fun!  The Dance Corner is a community of teachers and families, teaching and nurturing kids through the art and discipline of dance.  I welcome you to our community and am looking forward to fantastic year with you and your child!

Please take a moment to review it each month. It will be distributed via email. Newsletters are also posted online at  TheDanceCorner.com .

  The Winter Follies

We will hold our annual Toys For Tots toy drive and performance  at the Clinton Town Hall  on Saturday 12/10, with a dress rehearsal on Friday 12/9. Info on signing up to dance in the show will be emailed to families this month. This is an optional performance. Not all students participate and due to the size of the venue we can only include a limited number of dancers. More info coming soon!

Studio Parking
Due to the number of families arriving and leaving at the same time, the parking lot can become very congested. If your schedule allows you to arrive a little early for class, please do.  If you are planning on staying during your child's class, please park behind the building, in front of the Dance Shop or in the side parking spots on the Studio 7 side of our building. The rear doors to our main studios and studio 7 will be open during classes. We suggest driving around back using the main entrance driveway, dropping off and then continuing around the west side of the building following the gravel drive to exit onto Route 80. Please do not park in front of Rosello's Pizza. The parking area in front of Rosell0's should be used for drop offs and pick ups only.

Please DO NOT ENTER THE UNPAVED NARROW DRIVE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE BUILDING.  This is an exit only. Please enter the parking lot in the large paved entrance. From there you can drive around the back of the building and exit out the unpaved drive.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN IN THE PARKING LOT. THERE ARE MANY PEDESTRIANS CROSSING THROUGH THE LOT BETWEEN CLASSES.

The Dance Corner invites all students to try a class free. Not sure if you like Lyrical... try a class! Any of our fall classes that are not full are available for free trials. Please contact Miss Carrie by phone or email if you would like to try a new class this fall.
