Congratulations to Patricia Whitley-Williams, MD , professor of pediatrics and associate dean for inclusion and diversity, who was named president-elect for the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID).

Dr. Whitley-Williams is a liaison member of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and has served as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Tuberculosis at CDC and the National Vaccine Advisory Committee of the Department of Health and Senior Services, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Pediatric AIDS. She has participated in the development of the national guidelines for the reduction of perinatal HIV transmission as a member of the Department of Health and Senior Services/Public Health Service Perinatal HIV Guidelines Working Group.
