Principal's Message

I hope that you enjoyed your Spring Break. I have heard many exciting stories from our students. This next 7 weeks of school will go by so quickly. As we look ahead, we will be conducting final round of ISTEP testing for students in grades 3-5 from April 17th- May 5th. We ask that you please refrain from scheduling appointments and pulling students out during the testing window if possible. We truly appreciate your flexibility during this time.

I encourage you to look ahead at the calendar items for the remainder of the year. We will be very busy and having a lot of fun. We have Scholastic Book Fair next week as well as our Spring Picture Day. On Friday, April 14th, our PTSG will be hosting Donuts with Dads. Our annual Spring Fling will be April 21st. This is such a fun, family event. If you have not already done so, please consider participating in our Field Day on May 19th. The students have a wonderful time and so will you!

Seeking Parents & Guardians for Redistricting Committee

Lincoln Elementary, currently under construction, will be opening for the start of the 2018 - 2019 school year. Due to the addition of another elementary school, it will be necessary to develop a redistricting plan during the 2017 - 2018 school year. Redistricting has the potential to impact students who will be in grades K-8 during the 2018-2019 school year. Parent volunteers and educators will make up the committee that will develop a recommendation for the School Board. The School Board will vote on that recommendation at the School Board meeting in January 2018. The first meeting of the Redistricting Committee will take place August 15, 2017 at 6:30pm at the F.L. O'Neal Administration Building located at 310 Stadium Drive and will last approximately 90 minutes. The Redistricting Committee will meet 5 additional times and we ask that the members of the committee only commit if they are willing to attend all meetings.
