 Principal's Message
I hope that you enjoyed your Spring Break. This next 7 weeks of school will go by so quickly. As we look ahead, we will be conducting final round of ISTEP testing for students in grades 3-5 from April 18th- May 6th.  We ask that you please refrain from scheduling appointments and pulling students out during the testing window if possible. We truly appreciate your flexibility during this time.

I encourage you to look ahead at the calendar items for the remainder of the year. We will be very busy and having a lot of fun. We have Scholastic Book Fair next week. On Friday, April 15th, we have Donuts with Dads. Our annual Spring Fling will be April 22nd from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This is such a fun, family event.   If you have not already done so, please consider participating in our Field Day on May 20th. The students have a wonderful time and so will you!

Enjoy your weekend,
Mrs. Greene

Spring Fling
April 22, 5:30-8:30 pm
DT Café & Gym

Spring Fling is just a few weeks away!! We are very excited to be planning this fun event, but we need your help! We are looking for individuals who might have a connection to the Colts, Pacers, Fever, Indians, area hotels, restaurants, area retail stores, entertainment, etc. If you would be able to help us secure donated tickets, hotel stays, restaurant meals, or other items, please let us know. The silent auction is a big part of Spring Fling, and we want to have many items up for bid!

We also need volunteers for the event. If you are interested in volunteering to work a station at this year's Spring Fling, please let us know. Shifts are 5:15-7:15 or 7:00-9:00.

Donations for Class Baskets, as well as donations of candy, 2-liters of soda, and baked goods are also appreciated. 2-liters, suckers, and mini, fun-size, and full-size candy/candy bars are needed for games such as the Candy Wheel and Lollipop Tree. Baked goods are needed for the Cake Walk, which is always a big hit!

Please contact Melissa Myers at  [email protected]
or 317-374-8148 (text/call) if you are able to help us with this effort. And be on the lookout in the coming weeks for additional details about the event!

Volunteer Criminal Background Check Policy
In an effort to keep our school safe, all volunteers much complete a volunteer application form/criminal background check request and be approved as a volunteer prior to volunteering. The form must be completed at least two (2) weeks prior to the event in which the volunteer chooses to participate in.

Volunteer background checks are completed by the Human Resource Department using the State of Indiana Police criminal records database and the sex offender database.

Volunteer criminal background checks are valid for 3 years. After 3 years volunteers will be required to complete a new volunteer request form and the status as a volunteer will be reconsidered.

Volunteer criminal background checks are required for:
-attending or assisting with class parties
-assisting school staff in the classroom or school building
-having lunch at school building with a student
