 Principal's Message
Happy Friday DT Families,
It's hard to believe that it is already May. As we wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to thank our PTSG and YOU for showing your gratitude to our staff members here at DT. From lunch and recess coverage for staff, to flowers, to your teacher's favorite treats, I have been amazed at the generosity that has been shown. It means SO much!

Please read through our newsletter for valuable information that will help you navigate through this month. We have our annual Field Day on Friday May 20th and are still in need of volunteers.   If you have a background check on file, we would appreciate your help. Mrs. Hopkins has a lot of fun activities planned. We are on the home stretch, so let's work together to finish this year strong as a school community.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Greene

Transportation Verification Forms Due May 16, 2016
TRANSPORTATION VERIFICATION FORMS DUE MAY 16, 2016

Current BCSC families should be receiving a Transportation Verification Form in the mail this weekend or early next week.  Whether you are returning to Brownsburg Schools or not, it's very important that these bright yellow forms are returned to school by May 16th so we have accurate information to start making transportation plans for the next school year.  If you do not receive a letter or if you've recently moved, please call the school office to verify your mailing address.  Thank you for your help!

Unwanted Eyeglasses
THE LEGACY TEAM is collecting eyeglasses. We will be donating these glasses to the Lions Club. They use these glasses to provide improved eye sight to those who are unable to afford corrective lens. We will collect glasses at Delaware Trail for the next 2 weeks. Please bring any old, unwanted eyeglasses to the office and place them in the box. Our last day to collect glasses will be May 20th. Thank you in advance for supporting The Legacy Team and Delaware Trail.

Volunteer Criminal Background Check Policy
In an effort to keep our school safe, all volunteers much complete a volunteer application form/criminal background check request and be approved as a volunteer prior to volunteering. The form must be completed at least two (2) weeks prior to the event in which the volunteer chooses to participate in.

Volunteer background checks are completed by the Human Resource Department using the State of Indiana Police criminal records database and the sex offender database.

Volunteer criminal background checks are valid for 3 years. After 3 years volunteers will be required to complete a new volunteer request form and the status as a volunteer will be reconsidered.

Volunteer criminal background checks are required for:
-attending or assisting with class parties
-assisting school staff in the classroom or school building
-having lunch at school building with a student
