 Principal's Message
Today marks the last day of this nine weeks of school. I am amazed by how quickly the time has passed. As a principal, it has been wonderful to see all of the new relationships forming with both staff and students. We are very blessed to have such a caring, hard working group of people surrounding our students each day.
Parent Teacher conferences are on the horizon for next week on Wednesday and Thursday. I cannot stress enough how important these meetings are for our children. It gives you as a parent the time to partner with the classroom teacher to enhance your child's experience even more moving forward.
We have one more week until Fall Break. I encourage you to have your child take part in our Reading Challenge over the break. Whether you are traveling or staying around town, it helps our children to keep up their reading muscle. If your child participates, we will be celebrating with a special celebration the week we return from break!
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Greene

BCSC & Title 1
Title I is a federally funded program that provides dollars to districts/schools to assist them in providing services to students at risk of not meeting standards in reading or mathematics. Schools qualify for this funding based on their percent of students receiving free/reduced lunch in comparison to the district average. BCSC has 4 schools that receive Title I funding - Brown, Cardinal, Delaware Trail and Reagan. To find out more, you are invited to a Parent Information meeting that will be held on October 28th at 9:30am and 6:00pm at our Administrative Center, located at 310 Stadium Drive. 2 sessions will be offered to accommodate parents. Both sessions will be the same presentation so please come to the one that best fits your schedule. Please park in the back of the building and enter Door #7. Questions about the Title I program can be directed to your child's principal or the Title I Program Coordinator, Julie Van Liew at 852-5726.
Volunteer Criminal Background Check Policy
In an effort to keep our school safe, all volunteers much complete a volunteer application form/criminal background check request and be approved as a volunteer prior to volunteering. The form must be completed at least two (2) weeks prior to the event in which the volunteer chooses to participate in.

Volunteer background checks are completed by the Human Resource Department using the State of Indiana Police criminal records database and the sex offender database.

Volunteer criminal background checks are valid for 3 years. After 3 years volunteers will be required to complete a new volunteer request form and the status as a volunteer will be reconsidered.

Volunteer criminal background checks are required for:
-attending or assisting with class parties
-assisting school staff in the classroom or school building
-having lunch at school building with a student
