Flower Friday

Happy (Fried Egg) Flower Friday! This Matilija Poppy (Romneya coulteri) is native to southern California and northern Mexico. You can find these beauties blooming in our Desert Garden. Make sure to come check them out this weekend! We think it's pretty easy to figure out how this flower got the nickname "fried egg." This is just one of many desert wildflower blooms that you can enjoy. Dig Deeper!

Science-y, Nerdy - Changing Lives

One of the most rewarding experiences is knowing what we do changes lives. A former Earth Camper explains how the Desert Museum made an impact. "It seemed like a science-y, nerdy club, but it actually ended up changing my entire life completely," said Lange Navarro. She is now Cornell University bound and plans to major in sustainability and environmental science. Discover Her Journey!

Volunteers of the Month

Volunteering touches the heart of our mission. We would like to congratulate our volunteers of the month, Janet Reue and Mike Sechrest! Janet is a Docent and Mike is a School Group Greeter. It is because of loyal volunteers, like Janet and Mike, that we can continue protecting the Sonoran Desert. We could not do what we do without them. Thank you for being such a great addition. Volunteer Now!
