Hello from Mr. Hoover:

Eagle Parents:
One week until Fall Break! The kids are doing a great job staying focused and working hard. We are close to finishing our first round of Acuity Assessments this week and getting ready for the end of the nine weeks. Don't forget next week is Parent-Teacher Conferences! We will have information for you this evening and look forward to seeing all of you! We had the pleasure of seeing many of our former students today as the cast for Peter Pan (BHS Musical/Play) came over to say hello to our students! It was great! Fall weather snuck up on us this week! Please make sure your child is coming to school with a jacket or sweatshirt for the next few weeks before the real cold begins! Please see below for some important information coming up!
Go Bulldogs! Go Colts!
Have a great weekend!
Mr. H.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:
On Oct. 7 and 8, we will hold parent-teacher conferences from 4:30-8:00 both days. You should have signed up for a time at the beginning of the year but if you haven't, your child's teacher will be in contact. Conferences are a great time to learn about how your child is doing academically, socially, and emotionally at school and is a great opportunity to work one-on-one with your child's teacher. Due to fact we have limited time, we do ask that you are respectful of the 15 minute time limit so that other parents have the same opportunity as you. If you have further questions or concerns, you are, welcome to set up a time to talk with the teacher or you can email. We thank you in advance for taking this time to learn more about your son or daughter!

Fall Break:
Fall Break is amazingly almost here!! Fall Break will begin on Oct. 9. Students are off school for two full weeks and return on October 26.

Notes from the Nurse

On Tuesday 10/27, Smile Care Indiana, a mobile dentist group, will be coming to our school! This program is intended to provide dental services to students without regular dental care. If your child has not been seen by a dentist in the last 6 months, please consider using the in-school program! Permission forms were sent home a couple of weeks ago. Please return the completed form to the school nurse by Wednesday 10/7 if your student might be eligible for this service. If you need a new form, extras are available in the nurse's office. Dental disease results in 51 million lost school hours every year. Let's keep our kids at Eagle learning and in school! For more information, see www.mobiledentists.com or call 1-888-833-8441.
The Brownsburg Lions Club will be performing visual acuity screenings here at Eagle for our 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students on Thursday October 29th. You will receive a letter soon after letting you know whether your student passed the acuity screening, or whether a more thorough exam is recommended. (First grade students will also have a more thorough exam with eye care professionals, as required by the IN DOE, in November. The Lions Club will only be doing the visual acuities for these students.)
The clinic is in need of gently used sweatpants or athletic style pants. If you happen to be cleaning out your closets, we can use what you no longer need! All sizes welcome!
Everyday Math Night

Brownsburg Community School Corporation presents...EveryDay Math Night
Please join us for an evening of EveryDay Math.  This evening has been designed to provide you with:
  • a greater understanding of math achievement in Brownsburg
  • the math progression in Brownsburg Community School Corporation (for 4th and 5th grade parents)
  • ways to help with EveryDay Math homework
  • fun and easy math games that can be played at home
We will divide into three different groups so that we can focus on grade level appropriate materials: Kindergarten/1st Grade, 2nd Grade/3rd Grade, and 4th Grade/5th Grade.  If you would like to bring your child(ren) with you, they are welcome to join us.
EDM Night: Wednesday, November 4th from 6:30 - 7:30 at Cardinal and Delaware Trail Elementary.  Enter through Door #1 at either school.
5th Grade Music Program Almost Here

Dear Eagle Parents,
If your student is in 5th grade, please put Thursday, November 12th on your calendar as the night for their evening music presentation.  We are working on a great show for you, a patriotic program titled "We Will Never Forget". We plan to sing, dance and play the night away with some awesome and inspirational music!  The performance will begin at 6:30 PM in the Eagle Gymnasium. Students should be in their classrooms by 6:15pm in order to be ready for the 6:30pm program.
For the children's attire, we will use patriotic colors. Mrs. Rock's class and Mrs. Burns class should wear red shirts. Mrs. Welch's class and Mrs. Barbee's class should wear white shirts. Mrs. Beebe's class should wear blue shirts. Shirts should have a collar or be of a more dress up nature. Pants should be dark. Neat, clean blue jeans would be acceptable, but no sweat pants, please.
A separate flyer should be coming home soon with a request for concert assistance from parent volunteers.  Be on the lookout for the signup form and let me know if you can help!
We hope to see your whole family at the concert!

A Note from Mrs. Rose, School Counselor

Congratulations to these students who were chosen as 1 st quarter MVP's by their classroom and specials teachers!  Students who are chosen as MVP's show our Sporting Good Behavior characteristics of being safe, polite, on-task, responsible, and truthful.  The good choices these students make each day help keep Eagle Elementary a great place to learn and grow!
