Meet Our Class of 2017:           Marquis Bernard Warren

Marquis Bernard Warren is a Baldwin High School Senior who has participated in the Early College program since 7th grade. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. William L. Phelps, Jr. and the late Mr. Eddie B. Warren, Jr. Marquis is currently dually enrolled at Central Georgia Technical College and is currently undecided as to where he would like to continue his post-secondary education. He plans to major in either sports management or mass communications. Marquis has been a Baldwin Braves football player for four years, and he has enjoyed assisting with various service projects. Marquis has shared his Early College experience below.

These last few years of high school were challenging. They started out with a few rough patches, with the biggest one coming from the passing of my dad when I was in the 9th grade. High school has been a roller coaster of emotions with a few high moments here and a few low moments there. Along the way, I have had plenty of support. Thank you Mr. Roberts, Mr. McDonald, Mr. Matteen, Mr. Smith, Mr. Puckett, and Dr. Sallad for helping me throughout my years in high school. Beyond school, my greatest supporter has been my mom, Mrs. Josephine Phelps. The Early College experience, for me, was not just about what I received from the program; it was about how the program and my mom worked together to help me through the rough times and celebrate me during my mountain-top moments."
