The First Tee of Central Arkansas has added a new experience for it's program members! Starting June 2nd, 2012 , The First Tee will partner with Kripalu Yoga instructor Julie Zimmermann to enhance the 9 Healthy Habits aspect of The First Tee curriculum. Zimmermann will be involved with classes bi-monthly throughout the summer and will certainly bring an experience to The First Tee that our program has never had before! Below is some words from Julie herself: "The ancient science of yoga has improved many an athlete's game and golf is no exception," asserts First Tee addition Julie Zimmermann,(EYRT),a professional-level Kripalu Yoga teacher, registered with the Yoga Alliance. "This training, specifically for golfers, is a great match for First Tee students. The practice of yoga is a practice of wellness that paves the path for successful game skills. Group classes will meet bi-monthly, beginning with taking the Eagle Level golfers' games to a new level of confidence, focusing on freedom of movement, power and precision," she adds. "To begin, we will work with the breath, flexibility and balance issues." Zimmermann's forte is working with special populations. "Awareness about the science of yoga has opened up the demographic;" she says, "results wipe out a lot of misconceptions about yoga itself, as all ages benefit both psychologically and physically from the practice." Zimmermann and First Tee intend to forge a partnership with Flexible Golfer Classes eventually being added for all levels, in addition to offering special workshops, classes for girls/women, private classes and special events. Julie may be contacted by emailing flexiblegolfer@gmail.com, or by calling 917-547-9989.

The First Tee of Central Arkansas would like to thank the parents and volunteers for their support. The members from our Eagle class had a chance to reach out into the community and represent The First Tee of Central Arkansas at the Veggie Valet held in downtown Little Rock. Without your support, we would not be able to achieve the success we have had so far with our fund raising for the 2012 Participant Opportunities!
