You are Preparing the Next Generation

For 23 years, the MAB Foundation has helped serve the broadcasters of Michigan in many diverse ways.  Our mission remains to be the premier organization for recruiting young, fresh and talented people into the broadcasting industry through its scholarship, educational programs, and career fairs.

Without financial support from people like you, we wouldn't be able to continue this mission and help secure the broadcast workforce for future generations to enjoy.  Please consider joining us in that mission by donating today

Through your generous gifts, we have been able to offer hundreds of scholarships to high school and college students yearning to become the next generation of superb broadcasters.  We have sponsored award ceremonies to honor the best work in our profession.  And, most importantly, we have held numerous workshops, seminars, and events to continue to educate the best and brightest in our broadcast industry and help prepare those interested in entering this exciting field for the very first time.

For more information about making a donation to the MABF, please contact Jacquelen Timm at 517.484.7444 or [email protected]

Thank you for your time and continued support!  Let's continue to fund the future of broadcast excellence.

Sincerely,

Three Great Ways to Support the MABF
Crystal Mountain is calling! The annual MAB Advocacy Conference, Awards Banquet and MAB Foundation Golf Fundraiser are fast approaching. Don't miss out on joining your fellow broadcasters for this wonderful tradition August 22 and 23 at the Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville. There are many ways to support the future of broadcast excellence through the MABF at this year's event. Here's three of them:

1) Put your brand on Crystal Mountain Resort's beautiful Betsie Valley Golf Course as one of our hole sponsors and show your friends that your organization supports the mission of the MABF as they scramble across the links in this fun-filled charity event.

2) Help us congratulate the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award, Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame , The Lifetime of Distinguished Service Award and Public Media Impact honorees by advertising in our Awards Banquet program booklet. Full-color full and half pages options are available.  Learn more about our 2017 award winners.

3)  Let your support for the MABF shine and become one of our honored  General Sponsors. Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze levels are available.

Your Contributions Directly Help Michigan Broadcasting Students!
"The scholarship from the MAB Foundation helped to relieve a portion of the financial burden from me and my family, which gave me the freedom to pursue other internship and work opportunities that I wouldn't have had if I returned home simply to work and pay for school. It's also helped in that I have fewer financial worries, which allows me to focus more on my classes and be more present mentally and involved on campus, instead of spending all those hours working a simple job to make up the cost. Being able to afford the time to be involved in several groups and clubs on campus has greatly enhanced my student experience as a whole and taught me lessons beyond the classroom."

Thanks to your generous donations, endowments and continued support, the MAB Foundation was honored to present   23 college scholarships  and two high school scholarships in March at the 2017 GLBC Student Awards Luncheon. These scholarships would not be possible without the generous support from our Founders Club and individual station scholarship donors!

Student Award winners crowed into the Lansing Center Ball Room to receive awards in the MABF Student Broadcasting Competition in March. More than 150 attended. Michigan was the first state broadcast association to offer a student awards program. The competition allows students to compare their skills with that of other broadcast programs at colleges and high schools across the state. Its a great way to encourage young people to go into the many different areas of broadcast media for their career. Your generous donations help to keep this program going along with the many volunteer professional broadcasters who judged more than 960 entries. Thank you for you funding and your time.

The 2016-2017 MABF Student Advisory Committee is without a doubt one of the best, most active student committees the M ABF has had over the  past few years. This year's c ommittee, comprised of fifteen high school and college students from throughout the state , was integral in the planning of the Career Builder Conference (BCBC) and has proven that they are passionate and committed to the future of the industry through their production of a new student-focused e-newsletter: "Beyond the Classroom." The students write articles for each newsletter and provide suggestions on new and relevant topics to cover. The MABF is working hard to grow the e-newsletter reach and encourages you to subscribe to receive the e-newsletter. Text "MABF" to 22828 .

MABF Works!

"As a company, iHeartmedia West Michigan eagerly participates in MABF career fairs because they are terrific opportunities to gauge the pulse of talent emerging from colleges and universities and I personally very much enjoy meeting each of the many job candidates and hearing their stories. The MABF also does a fantastic job from start to finish of organizing, planning and executing of every career fair they hold. I know we consider it a privilege to be a part of each one."
