 From the time I began Free Spirit Crystals in 1991 to the present time I have been graced with angels. Not the floating, flying halo wearing kind of cherubs but the kind that the universe brings to all of us in human form. I was reflecting this week on how, whenever I need something and put out the energy either by thought or by asking verbally, someone always steps forward to offer what I need. Back in 1994 when I needed someone to help run the store, the Universe poked me in the ribs and said, "Ask Marene" and she said yes. Eighteen years later, here we are - still making Free Spirit the fun, healing space that it is. Need an extra hand at the store? Kathy's been with us for 10 years. When I needed stones, the Universe sent me Qaisar - my rock angel - who has shared his bounty with all of you by generously providing minerals at amazingly low prices. Want to start a school? The school gods send us Rose Koremenos - genius!! When I needed someone to do my publishing and printing, along came Jason Balden who is a graphic savant. Need someone to help with a booth or two? No problem - Pam M., Diane M. and Joyce H. are there! Need assistance with your new computer? The multi talented Amanda S. flies in with her superwoman cape on! The other day one of my oldest customers, (in Free Spirit years!) Phillip S. called and asked if I wanted 30 padded chairs for the classroom. Not only did he give them for free, he delivered them!
The list goes on and on. Every person who comes through our doors is an angel. Angels are with us to bring us joy, to help us when we need assistance, to lighten our load when we feel burdened, to show us that life should not be taken too seriously. They make us laugh, they hold our hands and hug us when we're down, they bring us soup when we're sick, they make our lives a little easier when we are insistent on making it difficult.
Do you know who your angels are? Look around - they're everywhere! Thank you angels - you're awesome!

 The Way We Were - Music of the 70's! May 10th and 11th 7:30

Join me and Women's Voices Milwaukee as we present an entertaining and uplifting evening of music, comedy and dance featuring music of the 1970's! I'll be singing "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" as well as joining our Laugh-In cast in "The Car" skit. This show is pure fun and Women's Voices Milwaukee is a joy to watch and hear! You'll be dancing in the aisles, clapping to the disco beat and singing along to your favorites. Don't miss this nostalgic walk through the 70's!

 Black Tourmaline Bonanza!!!! Last week one of my customers requested a large piece of black tourmaline. I searched my sources on the internet and could not find any that suited what she needed. Last Saturday I was shopping at my stone angel, Qaisar's, warehouse and found that he had 3 boxes of the most magnificent pieces I had ever seen. I was going to buy a couple of pieces for my customer but Qaisar gave me such a great deal on the whole lot that I couldn't refuse. I put them out on a 6 foot table and the tourmaline frenzy began!  Intro to Ayurveda

2 part workshop: Wednesdays 15th and 29th.
6:30- 8:30 at Free Spirit Crystals
Fee: $35 per evening
Overall Intention: Become familiar with the basic concepts of Ayurvedic, be able to understand your imbalances, be able to understand how seasons, age, time of day affect your imbalances, and finally to understand how foods and other therapies begin to heal those imbalances.
May 15th - How do the Seasons, your Time of Life, and the Time of Day affect your Imbalance and What are all the tools that Ayurveda offers to Regain Harmony and Balance Within Your System. Working with your imbalance requires you to be aware of how you are living, and what choices you are making that help to either balance or unbalance your system. Everything is interconnected, and in Ayurveda we move towards harmony within ourselves and in relation to those things outside of ourselves, bringing everything together to occur more synchronously. We will become familiar with some of the basic tools in Ayurveda such as: tongue scraping, and neti pot usage, nasyas (nasal oils) , and teas.
May 29th - It's all about the Food Baby!! Food becomes our medicine in Ayurveda. We will cover the 6 tastes in Ayurveda and how different foods incorporate those 6 tastes. Learn how to make food choices that heal you and bring you back into harmony with your basic constitution. We will sample, rice and other grains, dahl (split beans), spices, veggies, fruit, and lassies. I will provide recipes for lassies, and kitchari.
