Senate Passes 2018 Farm Bill
The Senate has passed the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (Farm Bill) by a vote of 86 to 11

Additionally, the Senate avoided harmful amendments filed by:
  • Senators Dick Durbin and Charles Grassley (imposing first ever AGI means test on crop insurance),
  • Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Jeff Flake (imposing first ever pay limits on crop insurance),
  • Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Pat Toomey (gutting U.S. sugar policy); and by
  • Senators Cory Booker and Mike Lee (undermining check off programs).

From here, a conference committee will work on a final version of the Farm Bill that must be approved by both the House and the Senate before it's sent to the President for review. House and Senate Conferees are expected to be appointed after the July 4th recess.

2018 Global Day of Giving
Our 2018 Global Day of Giving was a great success. On June 15, the Global Ag team volunteered at the Fresno Community Food Bank. Our team worked in the distribution center where we unpacked, cleaned, sorted, and palletized goods to be distributed to families, children, and individuals in need.

Global Ag's project was part of 250 projects across XL Catlin that contributed an estimated 26,500 hours of community service. Since the Global Day of Giving initiative began, approximately 300,000 hours have been contributed worldwide.
