Making the world a better place

WIAL believes that Action Learning can not only solve problems and build teams, but actually change the world. In record time, a committee was formed and created the WIAL's Better World Fund with a first project to support in South-Africa. But there is much more and Shannon Banks, the committee head, describes how each of us at our own level can contribute by using Action Learning to create a better world.  Read more here about this unique initiative !
WIAL Leadership Excellence Award

The annual WIAL awards recognize organizations and individuals who demonstrated the benefit that Action Learning can bring. This year, Joe CM Lee from MSI Shenzen was present in Washington DC to receive the 2015 Leadership Excellence award from Dr. Michael Marquardt. Joe was not only the driving force and role model to introduce Action Learning in his organization, but played a key role in truly changing the company's culture. In addition, he is a great testimonial of how Action Learning changes people, both inside and ... outside the work organization. Click here to read this exciting example of Action Learning.
And the winners are ...

The annual global WIAL forum is the opportunity to honor organizations and individuals for their contribution to Action Learning, and for the use of Action Learning to develop leaders, build teams and change organizations. The different categories of awards allow to recognize organizations of different sizes and areas of activity, and to put the spotlight on individuals who spread the message around Action Learning. In this newsletter, we tell the story of one of the award winners. Future editions will carry other testimonials. Click here to discover the complete list of award winners from around the world !

Slowing down to speed up

This is what a participant in a series of Action Learning sessions once told me. Action Learning feels like slowing down at first, in order to speed up fully and attack the solutions once the entire team agrees on what the real problem is. It is worthwhile to remind ourselves of the real power of Action Learning: getting to breakthrough solutions for problems that have been plaguing the organization for many years. Click here to read a short testimonial from such an experience in France.
How to kill Action Learning !

We all know about the power of Action Learning. But it is also possible to kill Action Learning. Paul Bana reflects on what really hinders the effectiveness of Action Learning and shares his thoughts ... Make sure to read on so you can avoid these pitfalls !
